Copenhagen, Denmark
Located on the 3rd floor in a beautiful building in Copenhagen, 7-year-old Valdemar's room is light, airy and colourful.
Walls have been kept white while the door frame, panels and custom-made desk have been painted blue, creating a wonderful and surprising contrast.
This room is filled with classic design such as the shelf, lamps, rug and bed throw – items Valdemar may use now and in many years to come – and then added age-appropriate storage, toys and posters.
It's a calm yet colourful and effortless combination with curious, playful details.

A classic Metro shelf is used to store books and various toys. Seen here: An open raffia basket colour 'Tea'; the book 'Den Fantastiske Bus' and Kohlrabi swim shorts.
On the shelf below the books: A bright blue and green storage box with lid to store smaller items.

Valdemar loves Pikachu and he loves to draw. A bowl and cup from Rice – in a wonderful collaboration with artist Natalie Lété – are used to store some of his stationary and soy wax crayons for drawing.

Walls have been kept white while the door frame and panels have been painted in a beautiful blue from Farrow & Ball, creating a lovely contrast. A large circus raffia basket from Rice is used to store toys.

On the desk: A fun, knitted cactus, a small race car and lots of crayons, some of which are stored in a plate and cup from Rice.

On the wall hangs a fox papier-mâché mask; on the floor below are two colourful suitcases. The checkered rug is from Layered.

The book 'Den Fantastiske Bus' lies on Valdemar's bed, which is covered with a bed throw from Thompson Street Studio.

Little teddies sit on the bed with pillows from Studio Feder.

A Tolomeo wall light hangs by Valdemar's bed giving a cosy light. Next to it hangs a pin board, made by Valdemar's mom.
Open baskets, including a blue raffia basket from Rice, are placed by the bed and under the desk to store toys.
"We moved in a year ago right when Valdemar started school, and so upgrading his room with longer-lasting pieces just felt natural."
– Annemarie, Valdemar's mom

Treasures of a 7-year-old: An insect viewer and magnifying glass next to binoculars, various Rubik's cubes and other knick knacks.

A look into the hallway just outside Valdemar's room, where Montana cabinets are used to store his clothes. On the floor: A flat-lid large Rice basket.
